What it can do
Written by Robotheca from the project's documents.
- Hexapod robot with six legs, each leg driven by servos, controlled from an Arduino.
- Can step forward, backward, and turn left or right by about 30 degrees in one step.
- Can walk continuously forward, backward, left or right, legs not resetting between steps.
- Can raise and lower all legs, useful when a leg gets stuck.
- Can be operated remotely through a Processing application (remote control described in the third article).
Bill of materials

Wiring and electronics
Notes written by Robotheca from the project's documents.
Main parts
- Arduino board as the main controller.
- Adafruit PWM servo driver shield controlling 16 servos.
- Servo motors, one per joint, with physical limits set in AP_Utils.h.
- Processing app runs on a computer for remote control.
Connections
- The servos connect to the Adafruit PWM driver outputs, numbered 0 to 15.
- The documents give no further detail on power supply or the remote-control link.
