What it does

  • Reads Trimble General Serial Output Format (GSOF) data from a device's TCP port and converts it to ROS format.
  • Publishes a standard odometry topic in a local tangent plane and a NavSatFix topic with satellite fix data.
  • Publishes many GSOF messages as ROS topics, created only when the matching message is first received.
  • Optionally publishes ROS transforms, with the parent frame set from the first latitude-longitude-altitude data.
  • Provides services to get, set, and reset the origin of the local tangent plane.
  • Tested with Trimble Applanix products (APX, POS LVX, AP+ Air and Land) and Trimble OEM BDXXX and BXXXX receivers.
