What it does
- Each node or nodelet loads a filter chain, subscribes to an input topic, and publishes the filtered messages to an output topic.
- Covers many sensor message types, including images, laser scans, point clouds, IMU, GPS fixes, and temperature.
- Provides a ChangeHeader filter that alters frame_id, seq, and stamp in sensor message headers.
- Input and output queue sizes are configurable, each defaulting to 10 messages.
- Image and PointCloud2 filters use image_transport and point_cloud_transport for publishing and subscribing.
- The LaserScan chain can load filters from laser_filters using the same config, but does not use a TF message filter.
