What it does
- Lets rviz display Potree point clouds, which are large point clouds stored at multiple resolutions.
- Relies on the Potree Converter to turn LAS, LAZ, PLY, XYZ or PTX files into the Potree format before rendering.
- Currently supports uncompressed RGB point clouds created with Potree Converter versions 1.6 through 2.1.
- The rendering approach follows an algorithm developed by Markus Schütz, and the plugin was inspired by a Unity plugin by Simon Fraiss.
