What it does
- Publishes a condensed GPS fix as gps_msgs/GPSFix by default, or as sensor_msgs/NavSatFix.
- Can also publish the full GPSd data set as GPSDRaw messages named after the GPSd API version, optionally including raw JSON.
- Ships a lifecycle-managed client component alongside a plain node, so publishing can be started and stopped on demand.
- Includes fix_translator to convert between NavSatFix and GPSFix topics live, and bag_converter to convert recorded bags offline.
- Supports many GPSd API versions and reconnects automatically when the GPSd server is unreachable or restarts.
