An Arduino library for controlling DYNAMIXEL servo motors through a serial interface. It provides the API for talking to DYNAMIXEL actuators from Arduino-compatible boards.

Made by ROBOTIS, South Korea (checked on github.com/ROBOTIS-GIT (opens in a new tab)).

What it does

  • Provides an API for driving DYNAMIXEL servos from Arduino sketches.
  • Hardcodes control table information for convenience and stores it in flash.
  • Lists serial port and direction pin definitions for several ROBOTIS controllers, including OpenCM9.04, OpenCM485EXP, OpenCR and OpenRB-150.
  • Supports adding new DYNAMIXEL models by editing source files, as described in linked pull requests.
  • Allows custom port handler classes by inheriting from the PortHandler base class.

Getting started

Difficulty
Beginner
Hardware it needs, as the project states it
Works with ROBOTIS controllers such as OpenCM9.04, OpenCM485EXP, OpenCR and OpenRB-150, or custom boards, together with DYNAMIXEL servos; no computer or memory requirements are stated.
