What it does
- Records hundreds or thousands of variables, with small CPU overhead even at high sample rates.
- Channels take snapshots of chosen variables at a given time; different channels can record at different frequencies.
- Snapshots are forwarded to one or more sinks, such as MCAP files or a ROS 2 publisher.
- The serialization schema is created at run time, so no code generation is needed.
- Snapshots neither block nor allocate, which suits real-time applications.
- A flight recorder sink keeps the last seconds in RAM and writes an MCAP file only when asked.
